Condition: an original specimen: as they become harder to find, local Morocans are carving mock ammonites from similar rock. Careful examination will reveal the fraud: this example is guaranteed to be an original genuine fossil.
References: This stylish fossil is the shell of a cephalopod - a squid. These fascinating creatures are collectively known as the 'Ammonoids', and once abounded in the Jurassic and Cretaceous Oceans of the world. The only surviving cephalopod from that era is the Nautili, still found in the Indian and Pacific oceans. The Ammonites extinction was around 74 million years ago, prior to the great mass extinction at around 65 million years ago at the end of the Cretaceous Period which ended the rule of the dinosaurs.
