Saltglaze Flora cornucopia, Wedgwood/Greatbatch type, c.1765

Quick Overview

Saltglaze cornucopia wall pocket, moulded with Flora holding flowers within a rococo frame, the tail with moulded blooms.
Unmarked, probably Wedgwood or Greatbatch, circa 1765.
Size: 28cm
Only 1 left

Availability: In stock

Condition: short hairline
References: ref. William Greatbatch p94 for the pair in the Wedgwood Museum. A Wedgwood invoice for 1764 lists block moulds for ‘Cornu Copias’ thought to be like this model, supplied to Wedgwood by Greatbatch. A pair in the Wedgwood Museum have the same moulding, and are ‘possibly Wedgwood’, although similar shards were excavated on the Greatbatch kiln site.
