References: From a Polish family inheritance, brought to Australia in the mid 20th century. The St George & the Dragon mark is an interesting reference to England, as it signifies imported English Tin was used in the pewter mixture; the local ingredients were of a different standard, so the mark signifies the best quality pewter. The Rocaille work is very much a 'Rococo' form, but the overall structure and the large knop still reference the earlier Baroque style, making it an interesting early piece of pewter. Silver forms were the inspiration.
