Bow sweetmeat figure, modelled as a ‘Turkish Man’ in a turban with a feather & purple coat, seated on a rock with a large scallop shell as his dish, on a low grassy base with rococo scrolls picked out in purple.

Meissen made the original, modelled in Ebeliein’s distinct manner with small heads compared to the bodies. Chelsea copied this Meissen model, and Bow copied either the Meissen or the Bow…. 

There is a matching ‘Turkish Lady’ sweetmeat.
