Bretby is the brand name for Tooth & Ault, a pottery works in Derbyshire. Ault started his own pottery in 1887 and purchased Dresser’s moulds from the Lindthorpe pottery; many of these designs are also seen in Tooth & Co pieces of the 1890’s.
