Cantonese ‘Rose Medallion’ vase of good size, the baluster shape decorated with four depictions of brightly decorated ‘Rose Medallion’ vases with bird & butterflies, two at the neck and two at the body, set against a gilt ground reserving well painted enamel flowers, fans, fruit, musical instruments, weapons, scrolls, and a large green mythical beast blowing a bubble with a quirky dragon inside (!), with two full-relief gilt dragon handles to the neck, four slightly smaller around the shoulder, the flared lip lobed.

While we are used to Cantonese ceramics with all-over decoration, this example is exceptional in the detail and quality of the painting.
