References

A most unusual shape, basically a bute-shape tall cup that has never had a handle attached. At an earlier period, this would be a tea bow, but by 1800 cups generally came with handles, especially at major factories like Derby. Handle-less tea bowls continued to be used & ordered in less fashionable regions such as the Americas, well into the 19th century.
