French ‘Baroque’ purse, .950 silver mount, Kashmir Paisley fabric, c. 1880
Unusual large size purse / small bag, with Kashmir Paisley body, the mounts in a lavish Baroque style with putti stretching a garland above their heads forming the lips, baskets of flowers providing a mount for the heavy chain, the catch formed as a fruit.
Indistinct hallmarks, including ‘.950’ for 950 Silver,

Condition: some structural issues, the fabric with good colour but re-attached to the mounts with some clumsy stitching, some distress to the weave at the top, one silver hinge broken & repaired with wire.
