Japanese cup with slightly flared rim, painted in underglaze blue iron red and gold with asymmetric panels of flowers, a blue ground triangular panel intersecting the scene to either side alongside hanging tassels. Circa 1720
ref. Impey 'Japanese export porcelain' #352 for an almost identical pattern; these were exported to Europe, where they cost 4x the price of the Chinese copies!
