Japanese saucer of small size, painted in underglaze blue iron red and gold with symmetrical panels of flowers, a gilt outlined flower with light orange wash to either side, within blue line rims. Circa 1720
ref. Impey 'Japanese export porcelain' #352 for an almost identical pattern; these were exported to Europe, where they cost 4x the price of the Chinese copies!
