Large cast bronze Orientalist female bust, from a pair by Louis Hottot (1834-1905) known as ‘Ottoman Couple”, modelled with elaborate cloth hair-covering decorated with jewelled crest, dangling coins, a wide necklace with pendant and seperate ‘pearls’ around her neck, on ornate square plinth with Turkish designs, the whole with coloured and patinated finish.

Louis Hottot (1834-1905) was a 19th Century French sculptor, who specialised producing in Orientalist scenes and figures. Most of Hottot’s were exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1885 until 1898.
