From "The Heads of Illustrious Persons of Great Britain, engraven by Mr. Houbracken, and Mr. Vertue with their Lives and Characters by Thomas Birch" , Printed in London by John and Paul Knapton 1742-1756. Jacobus Houbraken (1698-1780) was a Dutch printmaker who is known best for this series of portraits. Henry Boyle, Lord Carleton, was an Anglo-Irish politician, becoming Lord of the Treasury in 1699 and Chancellor of the Exchequer of England in 1701. He died in 1725.
