Ming Dynasty porcelain dish, decorated in underglaze blue with a ‘Phoenix’ pattern of a bird on a rock amongst flowering plants, the rim and the reverse with scrolling flowerhead borders. 16th – early 17th century
Good condition with minor glaze wear
Similar dishes were recovered from the wreck known as the Bihn Thuan Wreck, and this dish is similar Swatow ware from the kilns of Zhangzhou.
