Rare Masons Ironstone twin-handled vases, clobbered Chinoiserie scenes & cobalt with insects, c.1830

Rare pair of Mason’s Ironstone vases, of twin handled baluster form with spreading foot & dramatic flared lip, the handles elaborate rococo scrolls & rocaille work picked out in gold & turquoise, the body with a brown river landscape print filled in with colours, the neck & foot with a deep mottled cobalt ground decorated with Chinese style scrollwork & flowerheads, embellished with characteristic thick enamel butterflies & a dragonfly.

Exceptionally good Condition, marks inside lip of one are original kiln stilt-marks, the handles are absolutely original and not restored, the gold rims in excellent condition with only a very slight hint of wear. Overall in excellent condition.
