Ridgway saltglaze jug, wheat moulded, c. 1856
Ridgway & Abington saltglaze jug, the pear shaped body with relief moulded wheat against a trellis.
ref. ‘Relief moulded jugs’ p77 for an identical example.
The firm of Ridgway & Abington ran from the Church Works, Hanley, 1835-60, and seems to have made only relief moulded jugs.
