The interesting character of Folch, dancing-master & potter, is a little understood subject. He was a dancing teacher – who taught Josiah Wedgwood’s daughters – who came to be proprietor of a pottery, in part of the Big Works site after Thomas Wolfe died in 1818. He made quantities of Ironstone type wares, and also some superb porcelains in the Swansea manner. Begining in 1819, he closed in 1828.

This plate has a clear white translucency.
