This flower painting is heavily influenced by Meissen of the 1750's. The haphazard arrangements, black outlines, intense colours, and the use of a muddy purple-grey is distinct to this period. Within a few years, it had changed to a much looser style. Combined with the crossed swords mark, this allows us to date the bowl to circa 1765. ref. Zorensky #199 & 200 for this flower painting from the factory, distinct in its use of a muddy purple-grey to shade the very bright colours. #100 bears similar flowers, including the rarely seen rose buds this bowl has.
