Fascinating Australiana coloured lithograph, featuring a complex grouping of symbols around a central clipper ship, including representations of Mining, Agriculture, and War, the Kangaroo & Emu at the very top supporting the Arms of Australia, with banners across the scene declaring
“AUSTRALIA TERRA NOVA FORTUNATA / VULUNTAS HOMINI / ET FRUCTUS LABORIS / HINC NASCITUR ORDO” (rough translation: “Australia, the New Land of the Luck – through the Will of Man and Fruits of Labour, here begins anew….”
