Stylish equinoctial globe by H. Balieus, printed by L. Windels, Brussels, printed in colour to show countries, with extra graphics to show ocean currents, telegraph lines, European colonies, voyages of discovery and ethnic illustrations of the five races inhabiting the earth, on steel axis with fancy finial, mounted on a cast iron tripod decorated with bands and foliage.
Circa 1920
60 cm high ,approx. 32cm wide
Condition: some wear & losses to surface, discoloured varnish, lower wooden spacer replaced, paint finish showing signs of age. Good for display – not so good for navigation… (!)
