Chamberlain Worcester Dragons in Compartments plate, c.1796-8
Early Chamberlain Worcester shaped-edge plate, painted with a version of the Dragons in Compartments pattern, the centre with a purple flowerhead. Purple No.75 mark, circa 1796-98
This delightful pattern was given the name Dragons in Compartments at the factory before being assigned pattern no. 75 in 1795. Ref Godden- Chamberlain Worcester p89 for an armorial service of the same pattern and form.
