Magnificent large Chelsea dish, modelled as a woven basket with scalloped rim, left in the white, the handles formed as two vine branches with leaves & tendrils spreading into the dish, painted in naturalistic colours, the centre with a flower spray, a brown line to the rim.
Unmarked, Red Anchor Period, circa 1756
Condition: some stacking wear to raised vines; slight wear to brown rim; reverse with kiln speckling, fine spider-web of bubble ‘crazing’ (surface glaze only, no cracks) – displays very well.
