Chinese box lined with aromatic cedar, the body in hand-beaten brass with copper frames, the lid and three sides with embossed silver panels brightly enameled in translucent colours, with Buddhist ‘Precious Objects’ and foliage, the top with a domestic scene of men drinking, a pink gowned lady to one side.

incised ‘CHINA’ beneath
