Chinese Export brisé black lacquer fan, painted to both sides with fine gilt scenic panels, set within frames of flowers, foliage & moths, the tips of each leaf with a small miniature of a couple, the same scheme repeated on the reverse with slight differences.

Canton, circa 1840

Superb condition, ribbon has frayed lacquer is almost ‘mint’.
