Chinese Export plate, with deep recessed base decorated in underglaze blue & famille vert enamels, depicting a flower arrangement in a high handled vessel topped with a ribbon, the angular shoulder with blue wash reserved with four panels of flowers & butterflies, the rim with underglaze blue ‘precious objects’ spaced by flower sprays in iron red and gold, a brown line to the rim.

Condition: rim with hairline crack, no chips, very minor wear to decoration.

The decoration and the deep shape of this plate put it into the early 18th century; remarkably, it has come down in good condition, with the exception of a hairline at the rim; it has avoided rim chips and enamel wear.
