References

This interesting piece is a rarer form, being a half size soup bowl. The Brodie clan was an ancient Scottish clan, and heavily involved with the Jacobite movement. They were threatened with total destruction in the 1715 uprising, but withheld the English seige. This piece dates to the mid century, when Bonnie Prince Charlie was troubling the English once again, and relates to a fascinating period of English/Scottish history.
