Chinese black lacquer work box, of rectangular form with angled corner panels & winged paw feet, painted in gold all over with panels of figures amongst pagodas, within foliage borders, the interior divided into compartments with similar decoration to the kids, the base with a slide out writing slope with similar decoration, retaining a number of original carved bone fittings including thread winders, bodkin a, and various spools.
