Tall Chinese Neolithic pottery bowl with flaring lip, decorated inside and out in iron oxide pigments with geometric designs, four small lug handles to the sides.
Majiayao culture, Banshan period, Gansu region.
Circa 2,600 – 2,300 BC.
18cm wide, 11cm high
Condition: unrestored, with root marks ‘etching’ a pattern into the surface, some chips to the rim, pottery is stable.
