Chinese ‘pith’ painting of a red camellia flower specimen, within a blue silk ribbon border.

Excellent condition, one small mark lower right.
Unframed.
‘Pith’ refers to the paper the work is on, which is actually made from the inner ‘pith’ of a young tongcao tree – first soaked, the pith was carefully cut into paper-thin strips, and then dried out flat.
