Coalport square dish, of lobed form, painted with a large border frieze including four brown classical urns with gold highlights, the corners with a gilt leaf on green seeded ground flanked by trumpet flowers, with gilt flourishes and red scrolling foliage to the background.

ref. Messenger p15 & frontispiece for the same shape, from the Animal Service, c.1800, with similar rich decoration & gilding. This would have been sold blank from the factory, and decorated in one of the number of independent decorating studios scattered around London in the late 18th & early 19th century.
