| References | Dennis Ramsay was born in London, and trained at University College, London. During this period he spent three years in Florence, under the tutelage of Pietre Annigoni, a well respected portrait painter. Here he learnt the ancient technique of Egg Tempera painting. His works carry on the tradition of European masters of the 16th-18th centuries, who often used this same technique to achieve remarkably lifelike results to their still-life works.
