Derby figure of a Shepherdess, with grapes, circa 1765
Derby figure of a Shepherdess, modelled standing with a basket of grapes, another bunch in her outstretched hand, her dress painted in bright flower groups, in red shoes and a turquoise hat.
Foot restuck, firing flaw to trunk, small chip to back of base
Figure E29 in Bradshaw 'Derby Figures', the female shepherdess from a pair of shepherds. Interestingly, this example holds grapes, while the referred example has flowers: her partner holds fruit. This example is also half the size of the candlestick group Bradshaw illustrates.
