Unusual Derby teapot, of compressed globular form, with massive short spout emerging one side, an angular handle the other, decorated in a rich Imari pattern.

Red Crown & ‘D’ mark, various pattern/decorator’s numbers,

circa 1815

27cm spout-to-handle, 14.5cm high

Condition: small area of loss to inside flange on which lid sits, invisible with lid on; otherwise very good condition with minimal wear
