Sold
Dutch Napoleonic period silver milk jug, the helmet shape with reeded bands.
Date letter for 1809.

The hallmarks of the jug are Dutch, with the Crown being used during the ‘Kingdom of Holland’ Napoleonic control period (1807-10) for large articles of .934 grade silver. The stork with eel in beak beneath it is the City Guild mark for The Hague, the cursive letter is ‘b’ for 1809, and the ‘M’ indicates an unknown maker in The Hague.
The jug comes from a teaset with family connections to the VOC.
