Egyptian carved green feldspar amulet, Crouching Sphinx, Middle Kingdom 2030-1640 BC
Egyptian carved stone amulet of a Crouched Sphinx, in green feldspar, with upturned face and wig to either side above a lion’s body, a hole pierced front to back for suspension.
Provenance: from an old Australian collection, brought to Australia between the wars circa 1920’s. Said to have been purchased from Flinders Petrie.
