An exquisitely embroidered book cover, on ‘Maud and other poems’ by Alfred, Lord Tennyson, the spine front & back covers skilfully adorned with gold thread scrollwork, leaves and Tudor roses, in the 16th century manner.
Book originally printed in 1884, gifted in 1899 to Edith Finch, and presumably embroidered whilst in her ownership, Circa 1900.
Dimensions: 11 x 17cm.
Condition: considerable wear & fading to covers and spine, some silk missing.
