English porcelain spill vase, farmer, possibly Bourne, c. 1830
English porcelain spill vase, with lobed rim and three lions-paw feet, superbly painted with a panel containing a farmer walking through a landscape, on a blue ground with gilt highlights. Unmarked, possibly Charles Bourne, Circa 1830
There is a similar shape spill vase made at Swansea, see example sold at Moorabool Antiques 2016. This is slightly different, and thickly potted, but shares some characteristics in shape, such as legs. It is probable that this is an example of a factory copying Swansea in the early 1830's, fulfilling the demand created after Swansea closed.
