Flight Barr & Barr Worcester plate, Cornflower sprig pattern, c.1813
$285.00 AUD
Flight Barr & Barr Worcester plate, tastefully painted with a Cornflower pattern, with trailing band to the rim & central large spray within gilt line rims.
Impressed mark ‘FBB’ beneath crown,
Circa 1813
Diameter: 20.5cm
Very minor wear to gilding
This plate is from a part service, with some plates impressed ‘BFB’, others ‘FBB’. The decoration of both is identical, ie. by the same artists in the same colours & manner. As Barr Flight Barr finished in 1813, and Flight Barr Barr took their place, we can assume this is a service put together in 1813 or soon after, using pieces already made and pieces freshly made.
