French art pottery vase, Pink Poppies after Camille Tharaud, c. 1910
$285.00 AUD
Interesting French Art Pottery vase, decorated with pink poppy heads on a deep blue ground, after a design by Camille Tharaud.
Unmarked, circa 1910
16cm high
Faint hairline crack travelling down the neck aprox. 4cm, under the glaze – otherwise excellent condition.
Camille Tharaud (1878-1956) was a French ceramic artist, most noted for his work at Limoges.
This shape of vase is identical to Limoges, and this design was used on it, with added gilt details and of course an under-glaze mark. This is a most unusual pottery version from the same period.
