French Empire bronze boat-form inkwell, serpent handles, c. 1800

Superb quality ormolu & patinated bronze desk set (encrier), the clinker built boat-form flanked by twin serpent handles coiling beneath to act as feet, the center with rectangular box & lid flanked by inkwells, within a pierced ormolu railing.

Condition: signs of age, inkwell incomplete, one snakes head re-attached with metal pins. Good condition.
