Gerald Mutsaers was born in Holland, coming to Australia as a child in 1952. Based in the Yarra Valley, Victoria, his painting career began in around 1975, and he went on to exhibit in many Melbourne & Interstate art exhibitions.
His style is traditional, with great use of tonality and a fine eye for composition reminiscent of the great Australian artists of the early 20th century.

This canvas was purchased from the artist in the late 1970’s.
