Superb Herculanium (Liverpool) porcelain plate, finely painted with a garden landscape with sunflowers, hollyhocks and tulips, a central table bearing a large blue jug full of flowers, a glass bottle and a flower bunch to either side, the rim with a finely gilt border of convolvulus.

References | Part of a lavish service which appeared on the market in the early 2010's. ref. Peter Hyland- ‘The Herculaneum Pottery, Liverpool’s Forgotten Glory’ pl 150 for a tureen from this service, pl 156 for a garniture of vases with painting by the same hand. Another pair from the same service are to be seen on an English dealer's website. An apparent 'pattern number' to the base of some is 899, not visible on this example.
