Small white earthenware sauceboat / butter boat, printed in blue with a version of the ‘Willow Pattern’, the interior with a typical border.
Marked ‘WARRANTED STAFFORDSHIRE’ scroll mark, ‘J. Meir & Son’ below,
for John Meir & Son, Greengates Pottery, Tunstall.
Circa 1870
12cm spout-to-handle, 6.5cm high cm
Condition: 2 small chips to rim filled but not painted (can be done on request)
This mark was used 1837-97, but ‘ENGLAND’ was added in 1890.
