Large Chinese ‘Ancestor Scroll’, showing a large family group of 12 men & women, gathered in a house interior complete with carpets and lamps, an altar to the upper portion, a deer and crane on the ‘outside’ at the lower edge, various inscriptions throughout.
Qing Dynasty, 19th century
Size: work 82cm wide, 162cm high, mounted in slightly larger scroll
Unframed, distressed. Losses along regular horizons due to rolling. Can be cropped with a mount, or mounted complete with edges showing. Currently professionally mounted onto a scroll backing, stable condition.
