References

De la Tour had been Geographer to the King, before he lost his head. This map shows the interest maintained during the revolution for geography: very soon, Bourdain would be sent by Napoleon to 'fill in the blanks' to the lower right, titled 'terres Australes'. this is basically a re-issue of his 1765 print of Asia, with a few different cartouche details, and reference to his position with the ex-King removed, along with the 'New Date' of year 7 added.
