These large war canoes were used throughout the Solomon Islands, with regional differences. They could hold up to 50 people, and the single tapered hull could be propelled through the water very fast with enough paddlers.
The 2012 visit of Prince William & Catherine featured them being rowed around in a magnificent example of a Tomako.
