Good Condition
Born in South Africa, Mark Phillips was self-taught, and came to Victoria in 1973. He was well recieved, and won the Australian Society of Artists Award three times.
His works are oil & acrylic, and make good use of thick palette-knife work. The result is a very textured impressionistic painting, and while mostly landscapes, this example shows how successful this technique was for still-life work.
