Meissen covered milk jug, with c-scroll handle and large spout, the lower portion with lobed flower petal moulding, each with purple sprigs within gilt line reserves, the body with further purple flower groups, the lid modeled as a flower bud. Crossed swords mark with pommels, C. 1750, the decoration later

| References | The decoration is several decades later than the form of the piece, and a close examination shows a moulding seam to the jug; this suggests the piece was originally discarded, and eventually decorated by an outside decorator, probably in the 1770’s. |
