Meissen octagonal dish, painted to the centre with a chinoiserie in the manner of J.G.Höroldt with a noisy scene of bell-ringers, a child to one side beating a gong, with various insects & birds flying overhead, within a double red line circle, a band of gilt scroll- work to the rim, the reverse with crisply moulded acanthus leaves picked out in gold.
Crossed swords mark, also ‘4.’ in gold,
incised X to footrim,
circa 1735.
