Meissen-style cup & saucer, Watteauesque scenes, c. 1880
Meissen-style cup & saucer, of elegant petal moulded form, brightly painted with alternating panels of Watteauesque scenes & flowers reserved on blue ground, within gilt scrollwork borders.
Mock-crossed swords, c. 1880
saucer 14cm, cup 10.5cm inc. handle
The crossed swords mark is onglaze enamel – it should be underglaze for Genuine Meissen, even that which ius sold ‘in the white’ and decorated elsewhere. This, along with the decoration style, shows it is another manufacturer and decorator’s work.
