Rare Minton Majolica ‘Chinaman’ teapot, modelled as a seated figure with comb in hair, the head functioning as the lid, a broad hair plait to one side as the handle, holding an actor’s mask with spout protruding from it’s mouth, the whole brightly coloured in majolica glazes.

Impressed mark ‘MINTONS’, also ‘V’, ‘1838’, and ‘->’ date code for 1874

Excellent condition , close examination of the spout reveals a small bruise to glaze (not broken), otherwise the entire piece has excellent glaze, minimal signs of age.
